The Family Jams Area will be open Saturday morning from 11am-1:30pm!

This area will feature activities and interactive performances for children and families to enjoy together. It is also a great place to get the wiggles out and spend some time together before a busy day of incredible music, art, and food!

The Miriam P. Brenner Children’s Museum is open and free of charge all weekend.

The sessions

  1. 11:00 AM – 11:40 AM
    Kids Jam Session with Lady Rinaldi

    Join Stacy Ranaldi for an interactive musical experience designed to get children and families singing, dancing, and playing together. Kids Jam is a joyful, hands-on performance that encourages creativity, movement, and participation for all ages.

  2. 11:50 AM – 12:30 PM
    Interactive Kids Music with Andy McGeagh

    Discover the joy of making music together! Led by Andy McGeagh, this interactive experience invites children and families to explore instruments, experiment with rhythm, and participate in hands-on musical activities. No experience necessary—just come ready to play.

  3. 12:40 PM – 1:20 PM
    Family Guided Dance Party with Dom

    Wrap up Family Jam with a high-energy dance party led by Dominique White. Bring the whole family to dance, celebrate, and kick off national dance day!

  4. 3:00 PM – 3:30 PM
    OXENTE

    <p>Feel the heartbeat of Bahia with Oxente, North Carolina's premier Afro-Brazilian samba-reggae ensemble. More than a performance group, Oxente is a nonprofit community dedicated to sharing the vibrant rhythms, dance, and traditions of Afro-Brazilian culture while building connections through music.<br /></p><p>Founded by Brazilian musician and educator Caique Vidal, Oxente brings the powerful sounds of Salvador, Bahia to audiences across North Carolina with high-energy performances that celebrate culture, creativity, and community. Every beat reflects the spirit of inclusion, welcoming people of all backgrounds, ages, and experience levels to discover the joy and power of making music together.<br /></p><p>Whether performing on stage, leading community events, or inspiring audiences to dance in the streets, Oxente believes rhythm is a catalyst for connection and positive change.
