Flamenco Dance Program
My name is Velmy Trinidad it all started in 2019 in Liberty, NC, where I offered Zumba and flamenco classes. The flamenco classes didn’t generate much interest among the public. In Spring 2022, Greensboro Downtown Park gave me the opportunity to offer a Sevillanas dance workshop, which was a success. From there, in the summer of 2022, the Flamenco Dance Program began in Greensboro. We started by offering basic flamenco classes at the Greensboro Cultural Center, and to this day, we continue to offer basic and intermediate flamenco classes, children’s classes, Palos y Passion workshops, Sevillanas workshops, and Pop-up Belly Dance classes. Over the past few years, we have grown significantly and have had the opportunity for all the students in this Flamenco Dance Program to showcase their talent and hard work at festivals such as Folk Fest 2025 and Hope Fest for Hunger for four consecutive years. We have also been able to present at several schools in Guilford County, High Point University, among others.
