Titus Gant is a music educator, jazz saxophonist, and nonprofit founder committed to building sustainable pathways for arts education and cultural excellence. A native of Reevesville, South Carolina, his musical journey began in the church, where he sang with his family and played drums before discovering the saxophone at age ten. By his senior year of high school, he earned a full scholarship to Claflin University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education while studying under Bryson Borgstedt.
He later completed postgraduate studies in the prestigious jazz program at North Carolina Central University, where he studied under the late Dr. Brian Horton, Joey Calderazzo, Branford Marsalis, and other distinguished faculty. These experiences shaped both his artistic voice and his approach to teaching, grounding his work in both tradition and innovation.
Since 2008, Titus has worked extensively as an educator across public schools, private instruction, and community-based programming. His teaching centers on developing technical skill, musical understanding, and personal discipline, while also cultivating a deep appreciation for jazz as an evolving art form rooted in cultural history and expression.
